The 3rd article that I'm going to write under the Travel page, is a popular destination for in transit travelers. Some say is a city, not really a country due to the small land size. I call it Home where I spent 30 over years of my life there.

Home, SINGAPORE

Alrite where shall I start? A country that I'm too familiar with that I took for granted. Well, I spent most of the time in this beautiful city and that's where I fail to see what and which spots are the most "photographable" in a local's eyes.

Dad and his brothers love photography since young. I remembered the 1st DSLR I saw was a shared camera bought by the uncles and dad. Not sure how it ended up with Dad. As I grew, Dad would show me photos of me taken by him. He would bring me to many places around Singapore and have my baby photos taken.

Not surprised I pick up this hobby from Dad. I didn't really start shooting actively till I started my 1st travel to Taiwan in my early 20s. Back then, mobile photography wasn't that high tech yet. I took my 1st fireworks in Singapore, 1 of the National Day Parade Rehearsal events. Never really learnt the basic of photography, I discussed this interest with my colleagues, friends and Dad. Singapore is my practice ground, where I took most of the city scape photos.

Ok, enough of the history how I started photography. What would I recommend about Singapore as a travel destination then? The keywords that came to my mind, Shopping, Food (ooh, Chilly crab and satay), Sentosa, Zoo, Marina Bay Sands...etc, just couldn't get enough of these. I definitely missed the food most. What I don't miss is the all year round sunny and humid weather. (#Sentosa #MarinaBaySands #ShoppingParadise)

Due to the great geographical location, it's been 1 of the most popular in transit countries to visit. No doubt having the best airport in the world, Changi Airport has recently extended an area where travelers and locals can visit, Jewel. There's a huge indoor waterfall display. This is probably the 2nd indoor waterfall after Gardens by the Bay. The most "Instagramable" spot got to be the infinity pool at Marina Bay Sands where visitors overlook the CBD landscape from the building. (#ChangiAirport #Jewel #GardensByTheBay)

Even though Singapore is not famous for its nature, it's got the named Garden City for a reason. From the time you stepped out of the Airport, you will be greeted with rows of trees by the site of the road. Man made beaches and gardens have been developed throughout the years. Hortpark, Sentosa, Gardens by the bay are some of the famous man made places of interest around. Bukit Timah Nature Reserves and McRitchie Reservoir are few of the nature parks we keep. You might be surprised that there's a few smaller islands around which belong to Singapore, are reachable via a short ferry rides. 1 of which is Pulau Ubin. I personally haven't made a trip over before. 1 of the few local village preserved.

I would say 4 days tour to Singapore for a short getaway is more than enough to know it all.

More photos of Singapore will be posted soon. (#Singapore)
